Southwestern Whitewater Slideshow

Photos in the slideshow below were taken by Marc W. McCord on the Nantahala in North Carolina, Chattooga along the Georgia-South Carolina state line, Pigeon in Tennessee and French Broad in North Carolina and Tennessee on June 28 - July 1, 2014. Attending Carolina Canoe Club's Week of Rivers in our group was Anita Goss, Jason Jones, Walter Velez, Tom Taylor and Marc McCord. Anita paddled her Perception Dancer whitewater kayak. Jason and Walter paddled my SOAR S16 inflatable canoe. Tom paddled his S16, and I paddled my S12. Walter paddled his Old Town Discovery 169 on the French Broad. We were joined each day by paddlers in canoes and kayaks who knew those rivers and could provide us with guidance to and from the rivers, as well as helping us safely get down them. The photos in this gallery do not begin to demonstrate the amount of enjoyment we had, or the near-death experiences we survived in Class IV to IV+ rapids on the Chattooga and French Broad rivers.
